What Happens During a Home Physiotherapy Visit?

Before the visit

Arranging a home visit is simple. After you get in touch, we confirm a time that suits you and ask about your goals, health history and any funding such as NDIS or a Home Care Package. There is nothing you need to prepare beyond a comfortable space to move.

The first assessment

Your first visit begins with a thorough assessment. Your physiotherapist listens to your story, discusses your goals, and examines your movement, strength, balance and any pain or difficulty you are experiencing.

Being at home is a real advantage here — your physiotherapist can see the actual stairs, chairs, rugs and spaces you use every day, and factor them into your plan.

Your treatment and program

Based on the assessment, your physiotherapist provides hands-on treatment where appropriate and begins building a personalised program. This usually combines exercises to improve strength, balance and mobility with practical strategies you can use between visits.

You will finish the visit knowing exactly what to work on, and your program is reviewed and progressed over time as you improve.

Ongoing care

Follow-up visits build on your progress, adjust your program and keep you moving toward your goals. Throughout, we keep families, carers and referrers informed, so everyone supporting you is on the same page.
