Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025. If physiotherapy is part of your assessed needs, your provider can arrange for us to visit you at home and pay from your Support at Home budget.

We work with providers and care partners across our Sydney service areas, and we make it simple: clear assessments, practical goals, regular updates and invoicing to the provider.

How to arrange it

You don't claim physiotherapy yourself — it's arranged through your Support at Home provider.

  • Tell your provider or care partner you'd like physiotherapy (or ask us to contact them with your permission)
  • Your provider confirms it fits your assessed needs and care plan
  • Your provider engages Fletcher Physiotherapy to visit you at home
  • We assess you, agree goals and a plan, and keep your provider updated
  • We invoice your provider, who pays from your budget
  • Not yet assessed? Contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422

What it costs you

Participants make no contribution for clinical supports such as physiotherapy — but it does use part of your quarterly Support at Home budget, so talk with your provider about how you'd like your budget used. Private physiotherapy is available while you wait for an assessment or for services to start.

What our visits focus on

  • Strength and balance
  • Falls prevention and home safety
  • Walking and mobility, including walking aids
  • Recovery after illness, a fall or hospital
  • Persistent pain
  • Equipment recommendations, including for AT-HM applications

For Sydney providers and care managers

Why home visits

What we can see in your home that a clinic can’t

In a clinic, a physio sees how you move on a treatment bed. At home we see how you get out of your own bed, onto your own toilet and up your own front step — the places where everyday life, and most falls, actually happen. After five years of home visits, these are the things we check most often.

  • The chair and bed you actually use

A favourite lounge chair or bed that sits too low is one of the most common reasons standing up becomes hard. We practise on your own furniture and suggest simple changes.

  • The shower and bathroom

A step into the shower, a slippery floor or nothing to hold onto. We look at how you really get in and out, and whether a rail, shower chair or OT review would help.

  • Rugs, cords and clutter

Loose mats, trailing cords and tight spaces are easy to miss until you walk the route with someone. We walk it with you.

  • The trip to the toilet at night

Getting up in the dark, half-awake, is a high-risk moment for many older people. We check lighting, the path and how you get up from bed.

  • Your walking aid

Frames and sticks are often set at the wrong height — or left in the corner. We check the fit and practise using it where you need it.

  • Lifts, corridors and the car park

In apartments the hard part is often the walk from your door to the lift, the car park or the street. We practise the real route so you can keep getting out.

Persistent pain? Home is where we work on it

Our director, Daniel Lee, is an APA Titled Pain Physiotherapist with a Master of Medicine (Pain Management). With long-term pain the goal isn’t only less pain — it’s doing more with less worry. At home we can work on the exact task you’ve been avoiding, like hanging out the washing or getting into the car, and build it up step by step.

What to expect

  • We call you back within 24 hours of your enquiry.
  • Your first visit is usually within a week.
  • The first visit takes about 60 minutes — assessment, goals and a home program.
  • Reports go to your GP, coordinator or case manager as agreed with you.
  • Family and carers are welcome to join.
